Two weeks ago, my family & I wanted to experience our own version of treasure hunting. We decided to visit the city of Dahlonega; known for the Eastern Gold Rush and more recently to our knowledge a wine trail. This was our first time in the city of Dahlonega and believe me, it did not disappoint. The city is full of intricate shops, delicious dining, breathtaking scenery's & crisp wine. We unfortunately (but quite responsibly) were unable to visit every winery; an ambition of those measures merits a weekend getaway.

Proximal to the city of Dahlonega, Cavender Creek Vineyards was our first stop. This place breathes rustic country chic in every corner. The tasting room & winery appeals to the leisure adventurer. If your palette favors the semi-sweet to sweet wines, this is the place to be. Make sure to stop by and greet the tasting room therapeutic locals: Tinkerbell & Tucker (the owners Great Pyrenees).

Our next stop was a true chance encounter. I came to learn that Kaya was actually BlackStock Vineyard (for those that are familiar with the area) revamped in all its glory. Their wine list draws to those that favor semi-dry to semi-sweet wine. Quick tip for the wine enthusiasts; Kaya's barrel aging technique is a true mastery behind their lighter wine.

This place speaks volumes!! Frogtown Cellars has three taste rooms throughout the state of Georgia. Over the years, my husband and I have developed a friction with Frogtown as their Helen & Hahira taste rooms are quite challenging to catch open. We almost skipped over this place & I am so glad we didn't. They have completely redeemed themselves. The wines, the service, the view; I truly could go on. This place appeals to every palate under the sun. Their wine list is not only massive, but truly impressive.

Now I have to admit, our stop here was of personal interest as I have three sisters and I celebrate every part of girl power & unity. I don't know if their name created an ambiance in my own mind, but every bit of this place felt comforting & familiar; almost as if we were at home. Even strangers were friendly & eager to make conversation with anyone & everyone within peripheral view. Their wine list was intriguing and certainly appealed to every palate.
As I said before, we weren't able to pay a visit to all the winery's in the area. However, I did want to include the last two winery's to wrap up the list. We intend on paying them a visit in the near future.
The wine trail is by no means the only thing to do around town, but this was essentially the purpose of our day trip. Dahlonega has so many things to offer everyone’s taste for leisure or adventure.
